Legolas Greenleaf – A Character Walkthrough
Enough about the film series, which you probably know after watching several times. Let’s now dive deeper into the character of one of the most beloved and most interesting names in the Lords Of The Rings franchise. The curtain opens among the elves of Middle Earth. Legolas Greenleaf belongs to an immortal warrior species with pointed ears and eyes. Ever since his early age among other warrior elves, Legolas has been mastering the elven techniques of combat with archery, swords, and daggers. On the bottom, Legolas is gradually prepared for the greater war that lies ahead.
With his extensive battlefield training and combat skills, Legolas soon joined the forces along with Frodo Baggins and other companions. At one point, Legolas offered his archery bow for the protection of hobbits during their quest for the destruction of The Ring Of Power in Mount Doom. Inspired by such bravery, the dwarf Gimli, readily offered volunteership for their mission. But for centuries, the elves and the dwarfs had been mistrusting each other and screwing everything up. Thus, both the races want to keep their eyes open against each other.
Professionally known as the prince of the woodland realm, Legolas Greenleaf has undergone and achieved many tasks, such as being messenger and warrior for their race. Being an elf and the prince of the woodland realm, Legolas has been taking challenging responsibilities, that marks his leadership and sharp-minded decisions. This also includes protecting this homeland, the Middle Earth, from the dark forces of evil.
The character isn’t only favorable for his marksmanship and battleground combat skills, but he also loves nature as much he does his archery bow. And showing off is another sprinkle into his unique warrior-like character. Legolas’ greatest competitor, however, is Gimli, and he has constantly been fighting to prove himself as the best warrior and obviously, better than Gimli. Though Legolas and Gimli both are fierce warriors, Legolas is cleverer and, thus, practically more effective at the end. Yeah, that’s just our personal opinion, and please don’t tell Gimli that we said so. Otherwise, Gimli’s next target is probably our office.
Legolas Greenleaf is tasked with not only protecting Frodo and the Ring from the Orcs but also themselves. Sounds weird? This is because The Ring Of Power specializes in hypnotizing and turning even the most righteous warriors into its slaves and fierce opponents. This transforms them into hellbent personalities on stealing the Rings for themselves and thus, resuming chaos, destruction, and bloodshed in Middle Earth.
Though Legolas’ personality is gentle in most scenarios, sometimes his marksmanship and warrior attire makes him patronizing. And you know why. Because to prove himself better than Gimli. Legolas is sharp-minded, well-read, predictor, and sometimes he can be confused while arguing with those who disagree with him. And who else could it be rather than Gimli himself? But somehow, in the end, they both manage to work it out.
Wrapping up
This marks the end, and we would like to conclude this character guide on Legolas Greenleaf. He’s sharp-minded, combat-ready, righteous, sometimes confused, and overall possesses an excellent sense of leadership. And this makes the fierce warrior that everyone loves him to watch him as.
